This encouraging news is reported in Sydney Loney’s article (special to the Globe and Mail, published September 14th, 2026), ‘This person-centred approach to dementia could revolutionize long-term care in Canada’.
“The Views, which opened in 2024, is Canada’s first public, non-profit long-term care village. Providence Living is planning three additional villages in British Columbia, the first of which will open in Prince George in 2028.” So far the experience reported at the The Views is extremely positive. Good for Providence Living for following through with its plans to expand the village concept which it first announced earlier in 2026.
